As I said in the previous post, this year in May had the chance of photographing, with photographer Romy Fernandez Arroyo, an exhibition of jai-alai. Without doubt a great experience and I want to repeat, photographic opportunities offered by this sport are huge!
I also talked with the event organizers, Bilbao Jai-Alai, that showed much interest in seeing our photos. So a few days later we show them on my website and fell apart in praise to our work. And they liked it so much that they used some of these photographs without our permission or knowledge to advertise another event that was organized by them and could by seen, payment of 5 €, in September in Plentzia (near Bilbao).

I happende we went to Bilbao in the same weekend that they celebrated the spectacle of Plentzia and we could amazed observe how the city (or at least the old town which is where we were) was full of these posters, dyptichs and leaflets.

We tried to contact them to clarify this issue, but two months later we are still awaiting a response… A performance that can blacken the name of a sport so beautiful.
The dissemination of photographs on the Internet is a double edged sword. On the one hand allow fans to show their work to others, on the other t you are up for grabs, and sadly, abuse photographs lightly skipping rights that protect them (Intellectual Property Law, LPI) is too common.

Joder, pues qué podemos hacer que (al menos) cagarnos en la puta madre de ésta gente que se dedica a robar el trabajo ajeno para lucrarse ellos. Hay que joderse.
Una denuncia también estaría bien y lo que saques lo donas a alguna ONG para darle más cobertura a la noticia
En efecto, lo que debes hacer es sencillamente usar los precedimientos legales que están a tu disposición para denunciarles y personalmente creo que sería mejor hacer eso antes de publicar nada. Contacta con un abogado experto en la materia y lleva a cabo los pasos legales pertinentes.
by the way, si no contactar con un abogado lo mejor es que las comunicaciones con los organizadores sea a través de burofax.
Si es que a veces la gente se queja por verdaderas chorradas…
Las imágenes están tratadas de manera que no se reconoce quién está en ella (a no ser que pongas el original al lado).
No es que tenga algo de importancia o poca… es que esto no tiene nada.
@juan: no es que se reconozca o no se reconozca quién está detrás de las fotografías… es que HAN USADO fotografías que no son suyas, y NO tienen el derecho.
Como que no? juan, si utilizan la foto porque la postura de la mano era la mas “correcta” para sus necesidades [por poner un ejemplo] o porque le gstaba mas el tipo de color es irrelevante, han usado una fotografía sin permiso y para obtener dinero, si este tío va a juicio ten por seguro que almenos una cantidad de dinero conseguirá.
Vamos que esta fotografía tiene dueño, si la usas para obtener dinero… debes pagar… me parece de lo mas lógico.
A mi me mangaron una vez una foto de Toledo para la portada de una revista de la COPE (encima) y tuve le suerte de pillarlos. Se hicieron los remolones pero al final pagaron una buena suma por no ir a juicio. Si quieres ayuda, escríbeme.
